I've been in this profession for a few years now (although I'm not that old) and I can tell you that I always see the same mistakes on the websites of clients who come to hire our services. Every now and then someone comes with a strange problem that no one has ever encountered before, but in general the SEO errors that I see on a daily basis are repeated with relentless insistence.

Most of these errors are caused by ignorance and are easily fixable. I invite you to read the following list of errors, check which ones are occurring on your site and correct them as soon as possible.

Common SEO mistakes
Poor choice of keywords
There are websites that do not get results because they are not student database the keywords they should. The problem can come from two sides:

Choosing keywords that are not searched for. This almost always happens because you don't use the same language that your audience uses. For example, if you sell cars in Latin America, you should keep in mind that there they call them carros.
Choosing keywords with too much competition. Perhaps the keywords are suitable for your business, but the competition is very high. In that case, try to find keywords with more long tails that represent micro niches.
Solution: Conduct a thorough keyword analysis to discover the terms you are most interested in ranking for.

Not having a responsive website
If your site doesn't look good on mobile devices, you can say goodbye to 75% of your traffic, according to statistics. However, there are still many companies that, when designing their corporate website, only focus on how it looks on a desktop computer.

Solution: Make your site responsive. You can even consider implementing the AMP standard .

Poor navigability
One of the keys to usability is being able to reach any corner of a website in the fewest number of clicks. This becomes complicated on websites where there are no menus or links to guide the visitor's steps (I have come across several websites that did not even have a link to the blog in the menu). This is especially serious in the case of e-commerce sites.

Solution: Designing a website starts with creating a hierarchy of URLs. No project can begin without this first step.

Not having enough content
It is often said that content is king on the Internet. That is why pages with little or no text, or where the text is embedded in images, have little chance of ranking. For Google, long texts are more informative and, therefore, according to the search engine's quality policies, they have a better chance of occupying the top positions.

Solution: It's not about writing the Bible in verse, but about creating content that is informative enough to be useful to users. In some cases, this can be done with 300 words, and in other cases, it will take 2,000. You can take a look at the competition for inspiration.
