Data collection and analysis is extremely important in growth hacking. So, what kind of data should you use?
Basically, there are two types of data: quantitative data and qualitative data.
Quantitative Data
This refers to data that can be clearly expressed in numerical terms. For example, in the case of an app, this would be the number of monthly downloads, the number of monthly reunion email address active users, the number of views of specific content, and the amount of time spent using the content.
For example, it is possible to perform more detailed analysis by combining multiple factors, such as gender x age x number of monthly active users.
Qualitative Data
In contrast to quantitative data, qualitative data refers to emotional or qualitative data that cannot be expressed in numbers.
For example, in the case of an app, things like why did you decide to use it, in what situations do you use it, and how do you feel when using it?
Qualitative data also includes open-ended responses, such as "Please tell us why you rated XX as good," which are common in questionnaire surveys.
When people hear the term data analysis, many of them think of quantitative (numerical) data.
Of course, analyzing numerical data is important, and when it comes to interpreting the results, there is rarely any discrepancy between members of the analysis team, making it easy to use.
But quantitative data alone is not enough to understand why something happened.
It is necessary to dig deeper into your users and gain insights using qualitative data.
Only by combining this with the results of quantitative data analysis can we truly understand our users.
As you can see, both quantitative and qualitative data are important when it comes to growth hacking.
(3) UX is essential
To ensure that apps continue to be used, it is also important to improve the UX (user experience).
UX in an app refers to the experience that a user gets while using the app.
UX includes everything that a user gains and feels through using an app, from the appearance of the app, such as "it's easy to use" or "the design is great," to emotional aspects, such as "I got the information I wanted" or "I was able to purchase a great product."
Collect qualitative data as well as quantitative data
