PBN links can be difficult to discover and are often combined with other link spam signals, such as exact match anchor text links, due to the control the site owner has.
If you have previously purchased links that you know are from a PBN, conside sample cell phone number in philippines r removing them or adding them to your disavow file.
While there are people who may say that some PBNs do work and generate traffic, I would venture to say that although there may be rare exceptions, my advice is that for the most part, you should try to avoid this practice.
Links to content and spinning articles
In the late 2000s and early 2010s, building links using content spinning was a popular tactic.
The tactic involved writing one article and then using software to turn it into hundreds of different variations.
All of them usually ended up being garbage.
They then uploaded these articles to article directories (anyone remember eZineArticles?) with links included within.
Here is an example:
Toxic Backlinks - EnZine Example
Have you noticed the use of exact match anchor text?
There is absolutely no value to be gained from this article and it is clear that the only reason it was posted was to link (twice?) to a promotional gift shop.
These links are pure spam and this tactic should be avoided at all costs by removing historical links like these.
Links in spam comments on blogs and forums
Another link building tactic associated with toxic links is comment spamming.
These comments are often automated using software that places a large number of irrelevant comments on blogs (often with exact match anchor text).
This is done in the hope that some will slip through without moderation, and the goal is simply to try to get as many links in the comments as possible.
If you have a WordPress site, you are likely to receive many notifications with comments to approve that seem to have no relation to the content, but include a link.
