Fifteen employees of Zieltraffic, the German company specialising in online marketing are embarking on a 620 km charity walk from Munich to Cologne for the annual digital marketing fair dmexco. Their aim: to raise €10,000 for orphaned children in South Africa.
Both on Facebook
and on Twitter the runners themselves tell us about their experiences and how they are preparing physically for the event.
The Zieltraffic runners, including company advertising data directors Bernd Stieber and Werner Kubitscheck, will take turns every 10 km. To reach the 620 km mark, which is planned to be reached in just three days, each runner will have to put on their trainers every 12 to 15 hours to take their turn again. The race will run for 24 hours without interruption. Each runner will be accompanied by another Zieltraffic colleague who will lead the way on a bicycle.
The relay race will start on September 20 at 10:00 a.m. at the Zieltraffic headquarters in Munich and finish exactly at the opening of dmexco on September 23 in Cologne.
The Zieltraffic racing team will be welcomed by Frank Schneider (dmexco Marketing and Sales Director) to open the dmexco 2009 fair together with Bernd Stieber (one of Zieltraffic's managing directors). During the opening of the event, the cheque for the money raised will then be handed over to Kai Hill, head of the "Stars of Tomorrow" charity project.
