Google has said enough is enough and will no longer allow advertisers, publishers and YouTube creators to monetize content that denies the existence of climate change .

"Content that refers to climate change as a hoax , that denies the trends that have shown global warming over time and that denies that greenhouse gas emissions and human activity contribute to climate change" will be left without the possibility of monetization," Google continues in its document.
The internet giant says it will rely on a combination of automated tools and human-led reviews to enforce its new rules.
Google has also recently taken action against misinformation emanating from vaccines.
"When evaluating content in light of this new policy, we will carefully consider the context in which claims are made , differentiating between content that confirms a falsehood as an irrefutable fact and content that reports or discusses a falsehood," Google said.
In this sense, advertising will continue to make its way into content related to climate change, such as public debates or research on this particular topic.
Google's new measures to crack down on climate change deniers come just a week after its subsidiary YouTube also clipped the wings of vaccine-related misinformation .
Additionally, Google has recently launched a series of new features for platforms such as Search, Maps, Travel and Nest to help users reduce their carbon footprint.
