Post by shukla7789 »

A layette for a newborn is already a vast subject. For each of us, there comes a time when a partner armed with a piece of paper and a pen begins to create a kit for the baby. Meanwhile, so much is really not needed, many things can be bought later or given up altogether. In today's series How much does a baby's layette kit cost, or what to skip and what is worth saving. I won't deny that my friend Kasia, who already has two children, helped me write this text.

The baby business, like the wedding business, is developed to the point of absurdity. The future mother and the bride are in a kind of lethargy and you can sell them anything that has a label: it will definitely egypt whatsapp database in handy. Manufacturers of baby accessories eagerly take advantage of this state, tempting young mothers with newer, very useful and essential gadgets for children. And if the message that something is eco-friendly is added to this – a purchase by the mother, often in multi-packs, is guaranteed! In the meantime, it is worth taking a step back and listening to experienced mothers who will show how to save money from their own examples and advise on what things to give up and which you can definitely do without.

Unnecessary things in a newborn's layette
For the purposes of this article, Kasia reached for her own list and delved deeply into the internet. Based on the answers from mothers, she awarded points to the most popular layette kits. The following list of things that most often turned out to be a total flop when putting together a layette for a baby was created. And they cost a lot. Lucky number seven?

Baby bedding
This is the most common item among unnecessary things for a baby. The minimum set is a blanket, pillow and sheet, but mothers go all out and buy the entire set for the cot. After all, a teddy bear or Ariel on the pillow must match, at least, the bumpers on the rungs. The cost of such a full set is up to PLN 150! Meanwhile, as mothers point out, a pillow is unnecessary, and a sleeping bag is best for sleeping (the child will not uncover themselves and cover their face with it), or a good old light blanket or swaddle (which will later become a blanket). A swaddle can be bought for PLN 13, a blanket: PLN 10, a sleeping bag: from PLN 20.

Canopy over the bed
It was fighting for the first position, and finally landed in second. The most common opinions are: an expensive gadget created to please the eyes of adults, completely useless, which is only a breeding ground for dust and bacteria. The frame plus the canopy cost almost PLN 50!

Bathtub sponge insert
It was recommended to us by friends who bathed their own child, but in the end they used it only once (i.e. Kasia's husband used it). She learned to bathe the baby in the hospital, without gadgets, and it was the best method for them. If you are afraid that such a small body will slide, put the most popular thing for children in the bathtub - a tetra diaper. When wet, it fits perfectly and prevents surprises, and it is definitely more hygienic than a sponge insert. Cost: PLN 12.
