Post by shukla7789 »

The web sitemap is one of the essential parameters for positioning. It may not be the most useful tool for a user or for the webmaster, however, for search engine robots, especially Google, it is very useful, since they have a complete guide about the web page.

This week we are going to review the basics of the web sitemap, how it works and the influence it has on the SEO of a website.

What is a web sitemap
A web sitemap is a file that includes XML tags, which rcs database states all the URLs that we want to be shown among the results of a search engine.

In general terms, it is a file that contains all the pages that make up our website and that can be visited by our users.

In this section, only those pages that can be displayed in the SERPs are shown. Why are some URLs hidden? There are many reasons, the most common of which is that the page has areas that contain private information, and therefore are not shown to the public, as their content is protected.

Submitting your web sitemap to Google
Who would need a complete URL map to visit your website? That's right, Google. Google's robots crawl your website in a few hundredths of a second, and can enter from any of your pages.

Once your website has been crawled, robots can follow any path, which can be chaotic if you have hundreds of URLs and no map. On the contrary, if you have a web sitemap, the robot can place the entry page within a hierarchical structure and follow a pre-established path, avoiding non-indexed pages, that is, all those that are not displayed.

In our next post we will analyze in depth the relationship between Google and sitemaps and how they influence.

What happens if I don't submit my sitemap to Google?
If Google does not have a complete and updated sitemap for your website, you will simply not appear in the SERP results.

Google robots need a complete guide to your website to crawl it. If you do not send your sitemap to Google, the search engine will not take your page into account.

Therefore, if you want to position yourself, you will need a complete map of your website. Do you want to know how to do it? Don't forget to read our blog.
