Often, managers don't know which is the right position. Should I take over team X or Y and which one would be best for me? To this end, I would like to introduce the PST model by Simon Wardley and Robert X. Cringely.
The “settlers, pioneers and planners” model is a concept in organizational development that describes how companies and organizations develop over time.
Settlers are those who are in the early stages of an organization. They are busy canadian healthcare and medical email list laying the foundations and building the company.
Pioneers are those who lead the organization into a new phase of development. They bring in new ideas and innovations and drive the organization forward.
Planners are the ones who stabilize and professionalize the organization. They ensure that the organization works effectively and efficiently and achieves its goals.
The model states that each phase has its own challenges and success factors, and that it is important that the right people with the right skills are deployed in the right phases of the organization. Likewise, each team or department in the company is in a different phase.
the pioneer
In a company, a typical career for someone called a pioneer might be in a leadership position and be responsible for developing and implementing new products, services or business models. For example, a pioneer might work as a product manager, innovation manager or business developer, ensuring that the company stays up to date and responds to the changing needs of its customers. A pioneer might also work as an entrepreneur, starting a company that relies on novel concepts or technologies.
